LO5.1: Be able to edit cinematic quality footage
PASS:
While editing our footage we had decided that editing the beginning ad end to have a fade in and out would be effective in order for the transition from title screens to video would be smoother, making it an easier watch for the audience. while also deciding to ensure that the different clips of the clock that each show a different time mon each will also be effective in order to make it clear to the audience that there is an obvious passing of time. The short film will also be ending and beginning with the clock in order for the short film to have a looped narrative, this can be linked to Todorov's unconventional narrative theory due to the story not following the usual narrative structure and instead looping to the similar clips rather than a totally different resolve being made.
After this had been decided we had then gone through the effects section in order to add effects to the footage that will flash as our character Connor is walking through the corridor. This again can be related to Todorov's theory in how the film will have flashes - to what the audience will believe is different times, and the changing of times means that it isn't following the one structure. The effects added would be the red color relating to how Connor may see this as a typical dangerous or upsetting scene for him since the therapy sessions may be quite triggering. This can be related to Stuart Hall's preferred meaning following the ideas of stereotypes since the color red can be related to how it has negative connotations, making it an obvious observation for the audience to figure out. These clips can also be related to Pam Cooks cause and effect since the walking through the corridor has triggered Connor to think of previous therapy session and how previously they may have effected him.
This then shows how the effects have then been imported to the clips itself. This then shows how the fade in and out have been added to the beginning and the end of the short film.
